Do I need to know how to code?
No. You set it up by chatting with Hermes, and you'll rarely open a file yourself. If you use a cloud server, the guide gives you each command to paste.
What do I need to run it?
A machine for Hermes to live on: your laptop, a Mac Mini or a cloud server. For the model, start a Nous Portal account, which is what we'd pick, or bring an OpenAI or Anthropic API key. You pay that provider for what Hermes uses. It works best with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Slack and Granola.
Where does my data live?
Your brain lives in a folder on your own computer, Mac Mini or cloud server, and Hermes runs on your own model account. We never see any of it.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes. Hermes runs on Windows, a Mac with Apple silicon or a Linux cloud server.
